Florence itinerary in one day

If you can, we recommend spending more than one day in Florence. However, if your travel time is limited, it's better to see Florence than to miss it completely.

Stop 3: Central Market

8-minute walk to the Accademia Gallery

After exploring the Accademia Gallery, you've certainly worked up an appetite. Take an 8-minute walk to Mercato Centrale, where you can satisfy your hunger. Recharge with coffee, fresh fruit or a snack for a day of sightseeing in Florence.

Stop 6: Old Bridge

9 minutes walking distance to Gelateria Edoardo

After eating what gourmets consider the best meal in town, walk 9 minutes to Ponte Vecchio, one of the oldest monuments in Florence. It is the only bridge that crosses the Arno River and the only one that the Germans did not destroy during World War II. Instead, they demolished the buildings on either side of the bridge to block access.

A unique feature of Ponte Vecchio are the shops built into the structure, most of which sell jewelry and gold. You won't want to miss this iconic landmark in Florence.
